When we went gluten free, one of the first things I tried to do was replace things we already ate with GF options. Although this is not always possible, I've been able to find a pretty good selection of products that we eat on a regular basis. I'm going to share some of these products with you in my "Gluten Free Can Do" posts.
Today I'll share a healthy and easy kids' (or adult!) snack option that fits in our crazy diet.
**This is not a sponsored post...in other words, no one paid me to say any of this or gave me free stuff...we just buy it anyway :).
You'll need:
1 scoop of Skippy All Natural Peanut Butter
1 apple
1 handful of Glutino Gluten Free Pretzel (sticks or twists)
*This is also Casein Free!
Serve on a plate with a smile :)
This would be a great option for back to schoolers (who go to an actual school :)) or a pack-and-go snack. How do you keep the apple from turning brown? Make an "apple puzzle". If you're going the puzzle route, you can stuff the peanut butter right inside the center instead of the apple core.
A sweeter treat...melt chocolate chips into the peanut butter.
Can't do peanuts? Almond or cashew butter would work just as well.
Enjoy!
